What are the treatments for addictions?
A simple ear needle protocol was developed by the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA) for the treatment of addiction, addictive-type behaviors, and stress. Extremely thin, short needles are quickly inserted into five points on the outer ear. The client can be seated and the needles are left in for 30-40 minutes.
This “NADA Treatment” eases anxiety, relieves depression and allows better coping decisions. Most often this treatment is used for smoking cessation and drug and food addictions, and can work well for acute or chronic stress as well.
Treatments up to 3 times weekly for 5-10 weeks may be needed for addiction issues. These can be separate treatments or can be combined with your regular acupuncture treatments to address emotional and physical health conditions together.
