About Hillsborough Acupuncture
About your Acupuncturist, Ben Dyer, L. Ac., Dipl. Ac.
Ben Dyer is a classically trained, licensed and board-certified acupuncturist with a private practice in Hillsborough, NC. Ben received his acupuncture training at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine, where he completed a nationally accredited 4-year graduate program. Graduation from an accredited school, which includes a one-year clinical internship and successfully passing the national boards, are requirements for state licensure to practice acupuncture in North Carolina. Ben also did post-graduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a requirement for the national board exams, and has studied with Dr. Tran Viet Dzung, MD, an internationally renowned teacher who lives and practices in France. He has studied with the renowned Jeffrey Yuen, and Dr. Ed Garbacz, M.D.
In addition to his licensure, Ben was awarded the Diplomate in Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac.) designation from the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) after successfully passing the national board exams for acupuncture, point location, Oriental medical theory, and biomedicine. The “Dipl. Ac.” designation indicates an acupuncturist has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the profession. Ben has also had special training in the NADA treatment for addiction and related disorders.
Before pursuing his career in acupuncture, Ben pursued training in other energy healing modalities with the Inner Focus School of Energy Healing, meditation practices, Reiki, Qi Gong, and years of Tai Qi practice.
Ben has had a successful career for many years as a designer goldsmith artist-artisan, having received many awards, shown nationally, and been represented in many galleries nationwide.
In his free time, Ben enjoys hiking in the woods and the mountains, cooking creatively, and reading fiction. Ben has enjoyed living in Historic Hillsborough, NC, for 20 years.
